Alpha's Clarity (Clarity #1) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Be warned this is both a very short read, as well as a very dark and steamy one. This is set in an omegaverse which, with its talk of alphas, omegas and knots, may be confused with a shifter/paranormal setting. This is comparable to a contemporary setting but where there is a strong, chemical compulsion between omegas and alphas to mate.

This is dark - it has scenes of very dubious if not non-consented intercourse between one female and multiple males. If this would be a trigger then perhaps this isn't for you. If you are familiar with the work of this author or Addison Cain then I'm sure you'd be fine with this.

My only issue is that this is only part of a book, half a dozen chapters and a few scenes from a complete story. From the page count and time taken to read this (less than an hour) this appears to be one story that will be split across at least 3 books. I can't say I'm a fan of this approach, though I am a fan of the very steamy and down right naughty writing in this book. If you're looking for a quick, hot and erotic read then this very nicely fits the bill.

Alpha's Promise (Clarity #2) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

More crazily good hotness

I'm not normally a fan of shorter reads, but this is the continuation of one story, and I am totally hooked on it. On reflection I am appreciating how it has been broken down into sections. In a longer novel I can get so caught up in 'getting to the end' that I don't stop and appreciate the part of the story that I am reading. The length of these books means that you stop and digest it in smaller parts and that has strangely made it MORE enjoyable.

The series is building up, with each book allowing us to get to know ONE of the 7 males in more depth. Not that we aren't learning more about ALL of them but Mordek had a special 'role' in book 1 as Jeden does in this one. I'm definitely starting to get a feel for the male characters now, some in more depth than others but this is a deliberate move by the author.

I love, love LOVE Karissa. She is determined, tough and strong, even in the times where her mind isn't necessarily her own. She got angry when I needed her to get angry, and her reactions were so believable and appropriate. There is darkness and light to the story, I love how protective and caring the alpha's are, but the paradox is that Karissa is only in that situation because of them. Which is what underpins the who darkness and f'd-up-ness of this story.

This is very erotic and pretty dark, so you will either love it or hate it. You've now been warned that it has dubious consent and a lot of graphic multi-partner sex scenes. If either of those isn't for you then proceed with caution, or at the very least please don't leave a bad review because you don't care for the content. For those that LOVE this type of read I do highly recommend this.

Alpha's Bond (Clarity #3) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Being kept safe or being held captive really just depends what side of the door you are on.

By all things that are holy, this series just gets better and better, whilst the author continues to surprise me with where she takes the story. Book #1 made me thing this was going to be a darkly erotic tale with lots of sex and seven hot alphas. Book #2 showed us a deeper connection between Karissa and some of the alphas.

Alpha's Bond showed us just how strong and determined Karissa is.  This 'episode' was jam packed with emotion.  Anger, hate, despair, lust, hope, pain - wow it has it all, along with a dollop of dubious/non-con.  Poor Karissa was on a roller coaster ride of feelings, and she wasn't the only one. She learns the hard way that her actions have serious consequences that affect ALL of the pack, not just her.

We also get to know more back story, we meet Alishair (I loved him and would love to see him maybe get his own story) and the alphas make a decision.  I am most definitely hooked on this series of books. I need to know what will happen next, how the pack will keep their promises to Karissa whist also keeping her safe.  Roll on Book #4!
