✫¸.•°*”˜✫ TOP 12 READS OF 2018 ˜˜”*°•.✫

There isn't any particular order to this - it was difficult enough to trim the list to 12 books never mind choose on overall favourite.  It's also an eclectic mix of genres and authors, but I love them all.

#1 -  Finding Hope by Tiffani Lynn
A heart warming, contemporary romance about a broken veteran and the strong feisty heroine who helps to save him. Despite being a novella this tale packed enough of an emotional punch to make me ugly cry. I loved Cy and Rosie's story, it was perfect.

#2 -  Fractured Stars by Lindsay Buroker

This is an action packed sci-fi story with plenty of humour and a subtle hint of romance. Join McCall and Dash on their journey as they fight for freedom and fall in love along the way. This is a stand alone story, though set in the same world as her Fallen Empire series.

#3 -  Confess by Ashleigh Zavarelli

This book slotted into several different genres, but that didn't detract from it's impact. It had touches of darkness, lies, intrigue and romantic suspense all topped off with some heart breaking secrets. Gypsy was so vulnerable under that tough shell, Lucian was the perfect man to love her, if it hadn't been for the secret he was keeping from her.

#4 - A Taste of Shine by Addison Cain

We're so used to very dark books from this author, so this is quite a departure from the norm. A Taste of Shine is a reworking of a previously published book. It's testament to how much I love this author that although I already have that version unread on my kindle, I immediately jumped at reading this updated one. It's part of a duet and I can't wait to read the second part.

#5 - Kiss My Ash by Leddy Harper

This book caused some controversy with it's May to September theme, particularly since it was the heroine who was the older character. However I felt that the sympathetic, and down right amazing, writing made this a must read for the year. If you do then Rubber Ducks will forever hold a special place in your heart, along with Kristy and Asher.

#6 - Unforgivable by Author Isabel Love

What happens when two unforgivable characters meet? You get a book that will make you ugly cry like no other. Anna and Wes would both rewrite their history if they could. But sometimes you have to learn to live with those wrongs, and the hardest thing can be forgiving yourself. This book literally ripped out my heart, stomped it into the ground but then put it all back together, along with Anna and Wes.

#7 - The Warrior by Elin Peer

Although this wasn't the end of the Men Of The North series, it was the last book focusing on the original generation. Meet the man about whom I laughed, cried and fell totally and utterly in love, again, along with the strong, forgiving woman, Laura, who owned his heart.

#8 - Fresh Catch by Kate Canterbary

This is an MM romance that totally absorbs you with its emotional intensity. 5 stars simply didn't come close to what this book deserves. You will fall in love with Cole and Owen, as they fall in love with each other.

#9 - My Torin by K Webster

I can guarantee that you will never look at pennies the same after this. This was almost my first read of 2018 and it was definitely the first 'worth more than 5 measly stars' one. It broke me apart and put me back together and has stayed with me throughout the year. It really should be on your TBR list.

#10 - Man Candy by Lila Monroe

Lila Monroe is very much my go to author for a light hearted read with just the right blend of steam, funny, emotion and angst to keep me interested. I find her style of writing really easy to read. It draws me into the story in such a way that time just flies. There is no effort required to thoroughly enjoy these tales of sexy men and the women who tame them.

#11 - Fearless by Maren Smith

I adore the BlackLight series, and Maren's short story in the Valentine Redux anthology left me needing more. This was an eagerly awaited book and it didn't disappoint. Kitty and Noah were amazing and they burnt up the sheets with their red hot chemistry.

#12 - Wishing Well by Lily White

When I read this back in April I knew then that it would be in my top reads of the year. This isn't as dark as her usual work but the mind f**ks will leave you reeling. And you will cry. Hugely sobbing, snivelling, gasping, red faced ugly cry. The characters emotions bled me dry and yet I wouldn't have missed reading this for the world.
