BOOK REVIEW ~~~ Her Shameful Training 4.5 stars

Her Shameful Training

(Victorian Correction Book 11)

By Emily Tilton

My Review - 4.5 stars

I feel I need to firmly state that this is NOT a sweet little historical romance with a smattering of spanking and a lot of romance.

It's ok if that is what floats your boat and what you enjoy reading. However that is not what the talented, and very naughty, Emily Tilton writes.

She writes dark, boundary pushing and very erotic stories. There is very little romance but plenty of steam and I, along with many others. am unapologetic in my love of reading such kinkiness. If humiliation, unfair punishment and kidnapping sound like potential triggers, then this may not be the author for you. I found that once I let go of polite societal norms/expectations I very much enjoyed this book.

At best, this is full of dubious consent, tipping over into non-consent on several occasions. However that non-consent does not present itself as rape, nor is it an overall unpleasant experience for the heroine, or this reader. There isn't a great deal of romance, though there is a believable bond and emerging connection between the H and h. This, in case you hadn't already guessed, is a book to get your jollies off to, and it succeeds in that role extremely well.

Joanna is the orphan bastard daughter of an aristocratic father and one of his household maids. She is degraded, humiliated, punished and sexually awakened in this scorching hot read. She spends most of the book stark naked, all her 'holes' are used in 'the pursuit of pleasure for her Master'and her bottom is thoroughly punished in a variety of ways. She is also shared with other men, in the presence of her Master, Lord Stephen Gaithwait.

If you're not sure, read the 2, 3 and 4 star reviews of other books by this author - that's where you get the best idea of how good a book is and whether it's for you. Please don't read it either without knowing what's in store for you, or despite knowing you won't enjoy it, AND THEN LEAVE A BAD REVIEW - that isn't fair. Particularly when the blurb states "she is claimed, used, and enjoyed in the most humiliating ways imaginable."

Whilst Amazon are very happy selling you a butt plug to stick up your derriere, or a paddle to spank an arse with, they, in their puritanical madness have an issue with saucy books. (Pot, kettle, black, Mr J Bezos!!!!!). HEAVEN FORBID SOMEONE SHOULD WRITE ABOUT IT. HOW DISGUSTING...... THE VERY THOUGHT IS JUST TOO DEPRAVED TO CONSIDER, ISN'T IT? (Yes that is sarcasm if you were wondering). In order that their books don't get hidden, or worse banned, by the Zon, they have to use subtle pointers in their blurbs to enlighten readers as to the contents within. Hence the need to check out reviews when you see clues/hints in both the title and blurb.

Synopsis

When Lord Stephen Gaithwait takes an interest in Joanna Middleton, the beautiful eighteen-year-old runaway soon finds herself held captive at his estate. Before long, she has been stripped bare, put on shameful display, and sternly punished for failing to obey the strict gentleman promptly.

After the unexpected intervention of Dr. Brown, it is decided that in order to assess whether Lord Stephen is the right man to train Joanna, the esteemed doctor will examine her thoroughly and then observe as she is claimed, used, and enjoyed in the most humiliating ways imaginable. By the time her ordeal is over, Joanna will be left in no doubt that her body belongs to her master.
