MY REVIEW - 4 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐
An ancient prophecy seems to foretell the death of Ianthen, God of the Hunt, if and when he meets his mate. Unsurprisingly he has spent millennia avoiding commitment. His 'werewolf' heritage also requires him to have sex frequently, so this guy is more than a bit of a manwhore (though we don't see this in the book). Sol is the human female whom his wolf can't ignore, but a God is so strong he would kill her if he tried to sleep with her. However as much as she is attracted to him, Sol has been burnt too many times to trust a guy like Ian.
This story is hugely busy. There isn't only the relationship between Ianthen and Soleria, there is a huge back story of the Ryze battling the Aviraji and also teasers and build up to characters who will feature in future books. Because I was playing 'catch-up' it took me a few chapters before I really felt like I got into the story. However I was soon hooked in and loved the fast paced, action packed ride that this book took me on.
Ian as a god is incredibly alpha, both dominant and ultra sexy. As a male falling in love and terrified about a prophecy, he was foolish in a very sweet and vulnerable way. Sol was tough as nails, though her terrible luck with cheating men left her with massive trust issues. You just know that Ian is going to do something stupid, leaving Sol hurt and him with a huge battle to win her back.
This pair had crazy hot chemistry, if steamy hot sex scenes aren't your thing then this won't be the book for you. I got frustrated with Sol's determination to deny Ian, even though I didn't blame her AND it forced him to grow up some. I was just desperate for them to get it on! I loved the story from start to finish and can't wait for the next book in the series.
PS I'd already guessed the truth about Nylicia - I so can't wait to find out more!
