BOOK REVIEW & RELEASE BLITZ ~~~~~ THE GOOD SAMARITAN by RC Boldt

MY REVIEW

So very much more than just a romance, this is one powerful and lasting read. You simply MUST read this.

This is something very different from RC Boldt, something very different from the majority of contemporary romances, but something so very worth reading. I'm struggling to describe the impact this book had on me, I don't feel I can do justice to the book. Put quite simply this is a 'stay with you' book, a story that touches a place inside you and leaves a lasting impression.

Jude is hiding a secret, something that made a huge impact on his life. A secret that has left him a broken man. Now I could make a rough guess at this secret that wasn't revealed until almost the end of the book. Normally either those two things would be the kiss of death for a story - too obvious a secret or the secret being kept too long - but that wasn't the case with The Good Samaritan.  It didn't matter one jot because this book was just so much more.

At times the pace of the book was almost slow, but again that wasn't a problem. It lent a gentleness and quiet to the story that somehow just worked. This wasn't a full of action story nor did it have unnecessary drama. This was the story of two struggling, damaged and very real individuals who find they have a connection. I totally believed in both Jude and Faith. They entwined themselves around my heart and made themselves at home.

And the 'resolution' was spot on. Realistic, natural, different, amazing and so emotional. It's the sort of book that you immediately want to re-read to absorb all those little nuances that you missed first time round. Those little gems that you rushed past because you were so desperate to reach the destination that this journey provided.

I'd actually been in a real reading rut. I'd struggled to properly finish the last half dozen or more books I've started, some I didn't even bother to compete. I was worried that my reading mojo had gone. Thankfully this book broke that streak has reassured me that I'm perfectly fine and had just experienced a particularly bad run of luck.

Blurb

The biggest story of her life is the one he wants to hide.

I’m homeless by choice.
I have no intention of returning to my former life after what I’ve done.
This—living among the filth and discarded remnants of others—is what I deserve.
As atonement for my sins, I give back; I help those who cannot help themselves. But it’s always under the guise of anonymity.
Newspaper headlines throughout the city are clamoring to discover my identity.  Including the beautiful woman who manages to see through my “armor.”
She has the capability to put my entire life at risk.
