My Review of How to Choose a Guy in 10 Days, Lila Monroe
Absolutely wonderful, a delightful mix of funny, steamy and emotional
If you love a warm, witty and well written tale of love then you need look no further than this. How to Choose a Guy in 10 Days drew me in from the first chapter and held my attention through out.
The book is written 1st person and I really liked that there were chapters from Zach's view point, allowing us to really get to know him as a character. They say never judge a book by it's cover, and that analogy was true for Zach. He appeared to be a selfish, man-whore of a slob, but as we got to know and understand him, there was a real diamond hidden under the layers of neglect. A very gentle soul who just needed to be guided back into life.
Gemma was strong but still sweet and very caring. Both her and Zach were immensely likeable and believable characters. I really believed in their connection, despite the short time period there were enough interactions, conversations and events for it to feel very real.
The resolution was perhaps a little hurried, the idea's were brilliant but I would have loved to experience some of them from Zach's perspective, even if only briefly. However this didn't detract from my enjoyment of what is a really entertaining story and one that is very worth reading.
