MY REVIEW

I think we would all love a Kiel Kaino in our lives!

This is a really good mix of a steamy, second-chance romance with a smidgen of suspense too boot. Tied Down can be read as a stand-alone story, it does feature characters from book 1 but the plot of this one is independent from the first. I am a huge Chelle Bliss fan, so I don't even need to look at the blurb to know I'll be reading the story, and I never find myself disappointed with any of her books. 

Kiel is offered the job of a lifetime in New York, somewhere he swore never to return. He should have known better and gets sucked back into the world of Cara, his one-time mafia goddess. However they parted on bad terms, painfully bad terms for Kiel who literally limped home to lick wounds that were NOT metaphorical. Cara is the last person he wants to see, but he can't deny the attraction he still feels for her. Will they get a chance to right the wrongs of the past, or will the danger of Cara's world tear them apart forever?

If you've read Nailed Down, then you will already have met Kiel. However the Kiel from that story was just a cloak he wears to protect his heart. In Tied Down we meet a very different man, not the heartless man-whore I thought I might get, nor the dominant alpha male that we see too often. No, Kiel is very much the calm, strong and mainly silent type but also a man who loves fiercely and when he loves it is with all his heart. I wasn't sure if I'd like Kiel but what I felt far surpassed that emotion. I absolutely adored him, he could do no wrong in my eyes!

For the first few chapters I really disliked Cara, by the end of the book I loved her too. That was some clever writing Ms Bliss and Ms Butler!!! At one point I couldn't see how I would ever forgive Cara, I actually felt worried that I wouldn't like the book because of this. Yet, whilst I didn't feel that she ever truly explained her actions, I could forgive her. Her love for Kiel shone out from the pages of this book.

The plot has some crazy twists and turns and a very nice set up for a third book, which I will most definitely be reading! Whilst this definitely has 'adult' content, there wasn't a lot of it. what there was fitted into the story and felt a very organic part of the plot. The book is really well written, the story was easy to read and follow and the pace was perfect. I would happily recommend this to fans of contemporary romance, as well as to family and friends.

You don't have to read all the books in this series, but they are great fun so don't miss out..
