A NEW OMEGAVERSE AUTHOR

THE OMEGA PRIZE

by Leann Ryans

My review - 4.25 stars

A hot and delicious omegaverse romp

When I was offered the opportunity to review The Omega Prize , I have to admit I felt some trepidation. I've found a lot of review requests books I've been offered have needed a LOT of work to make them readable, so I was extremely pleased with how very readable this one was.

I personally had a couple of minor niggling issues with the first few chapters, but once the story got underway I was totally engaged and immersed into it.  There were some incorrect tenses, the result of the author changing from 1st to 3rd person.  She plans on correcting this as soon as possible, so don't let it put you off.   It is very much worth pushing through those very early parts because what follows is a really good read.

I genuinely liked both main characters, they were nicely fleshed out, likeable and best of all believable. Zander was pretty decent for an alpha in an omegaverse story. He wasn't a pushover or weak but he definitely valued his omega, even as he dominated her. Brie was an omega in hiding, and whilst she had no choice in being mated to an alpha, she didn't feel weak when she chose to make the best of it.

The chemistry between the main characters is intense, and the sex scenes were incredibly hot, without being overlong or tawdry. It's fairly slow burn, but didn't feel it. I guess there was so much other action happening it didn't leave time for dwelling on when they'd get to the down and dirty part!

Talking of action, the plot was well thought through and the pace was excellent. After the first couple of chapters the writing style really flowed well and I found myself totally caught up in the story. I'm so pleased to know Karn is the hero of the next book, I'm very much looking forward to reading his story.

Blurb

Being an omega on a space station is risky. Especially on a station that has illegal activities hosted by your boss...and he decided you'd make a good prize for the Alphas...

"She felt his fingers on the back of her head, trailing lightly along her body all the way to the swell of her ass. She arched, trying to press up into his touch, but he removed his hand only to bring it down in a sharp slap against her bottom.

Brie jumped, more out of surprise than pain as he told her, "That was for growling at me. I don't suggest you do it again, because next time you're punishment will be much worse."

5 stars - This is a book I will not forget and would definitely read again.

4 stars - I really enjoyed this book, I might not read it again but I would definitely recommend it to others.

3 stars - This story was good but either forgettable or just very typical of its genre.

2 stars - Whilst the book was readable I either didn't enjoy parts of the plot or just could not connect to the main characters.

1 star - This is a book I simply could not finish for reasons listed in the review.
