Blurb

The sins of his past can’t be forgiven.

Mason Thatcher gave me chills when I first laid eyes on him.  The good kind. The kind that makes your body ache and your heart hammer.

What’s better is that he looked at me the same way.
There was a hunger in his eyes that wouldn’t be sated, and a confidence in his stride that told me I could never run from him. Back then, I didn’t want to.

It’s not fair that his touch eased my pain.
That his lips on mine made my worries vanish.
That his love gave me a reason to breathe again.

With him, I felt complete, as if fate had given me a second chance.

Then I learned the truth: the sins and secrets of what really brought us together.

I knew it was too good to be true, but I could never have imagined he’d be capable of something so cold and cruel.

There’s no way we can go back to what we once were and it’s not as easy as walking away.  He won’t let me.  He can’t risk me telling his secrets.

I don’t know what choices I have or how I’ll survive this.

What he’s done is unforgivable, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to let me go.

My Review

You need to have read Imperfect (Sins and Secrets: Series of Duets #1) before this book, and what a dark, twisted and wonderful tale this is.

The story picks up straight from where Book #1 finishes. How will Marcus win Jules back? How can Jules ever forgive him? What connects all the different players in this story? You need to read this to find out, and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

I particularly loved the epilogue - not your usual 'hearts and flowers' proposal/wedding/birth of first child scene but a rather honest and gritty conclusion to a captivating and very twisted tale.

I'm not sure if I should be worried out how Willow Winters' brain works but I'm glad it does work that way as this was one heck of read. I couldn't put it down and read it through in one sitting. I can't wait for Kat and Evan's story.

My Review

What seems to start of as a simple romance between Mason and Jules soon turns into a much darker and more troubling tale of lies and deceit. As you journey through this dark tale more and more of those sins and secrets are revealed.

Mason is so caring of and to Jules, but you just know he has some buried secrets that are going to tear her apart. Jules is trying to come to terms with the death of her husband and falling in love with someone else. If that isn't bad enough she then finds out more and more sins and secretssurrounding her dead husband.

The writing is very good, the plot had amazing twists, turns, revelations and mysteries and the pace kept me hooked. I really liked both Mason and Jules and the chemistry between them was believable and so very hot. There are also some very good supporting characters in the book that help add depth and interest to the story.

The book starts of like many bad boy romances but gets darker and darker as the story progresses. The snippets of poetry at the start of each chapter really add to the emotional feel of the book. Each chapter was written first person from either Mason or Jules's POV. I liked how some were long chapters and others were quite short, it allowed the POV to change naturally within the story.

The only other work I've read by this author was co-written with another writer. I have to say that this had a verydifferent feel to it and felt much edgier (if that's a word!). The book does end on a cliff-hanger but thankfully I have Unforgiven (Sins and Secrets Duets #2) on my kindle so I can find out what happens next, as this is one story I definitely want to read the ending of.
Author Bio

Willow Winters is so happy to be a USA Today, Wall Street Journal and #1 Contemporary Bestselling Romance Author. She likes her action hot and her bad boys hotter. She certainly doesn’t hold back on either one in her writing!

Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.

In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
