Claire Miller fell in love with Jake in the third grade. One hot night of reckless passion changed things between them forever. Jake rocked her world, but Claire had plans for her life. Knowing she could never be what he needed, she let him go and has missed him every day since.
Jake Walker knew the first time he saw Claire, when he was nine years old, that he wanted to marry her. At seventeen, he let her go. But seven years later, the sight of her hit him like a punch to the gut. Every cell in his body demanded that she was ‘The One'. But can he convince Claire?

My Review ~~~ 5 emotion filled stars
I loved this book and read it in one go. I was gripped from page one until the last line.
I thought I loved Chase in Crash and Burn. Jake just blew him out of the water. He is such a sweet and sexy guy but nobody has noticed how much he is struggling with grief over his mother's death. So many times I wanted to hug him and make it all better.
Claire is a strong heroine and just as likable and believable as Jake. She isn't content to give it all up for a man and this is how their problems started.
This is a second chance story so the love between the characters is already there. The author does an amazing job of convincing us about this love. I totally bought into the relationship and chemistry. I also got why Claire walked away.
My heart broke for Jake left behind by the love of his life, it hurt for Claire forced to chose between her love for Jake and her love for her career. And when you get to the scene of all four brothers on the bed in their mother's old room together you will need a BIG box of tissues. I cried so much I couldn't see to read.
The scenes between the main characters were full of love and anguish and I felt every bit of it. There were also some amazing scenes between Jake and his brothers. Chase didn't really appear until almost the end of the book but thank goodness he did is all I will say.
The ending? I think that was one of the best endings I have read and I couldn't imagine a better one.

About Amanda Adams
Amanda Adams fell in love with books at a very early age. Her earliest memories are of sitting on her mother's lap reading Cinderella and Snow White and Rose Red over, and over, and over again until she had them memorized –- she was too young to know the alphabet.
Amanda started writing stories in big, sloppy handwriting in a wide-rule notebook when she was bored, during class (of course) in the fifth grade. Her favorite stories always include excitement, adventure and a handsome hero guaranteed to sweep her off her feet.
Amanda lives in beautiful Colorado with her husband (her high-school sweetheart who proved the reality of "love at first sight") and three teenagers whom she reminds, repeatedly… "If it's not in my phone, it's not happening," because her mind is oh-so-often far away living a fairy tale. (That's code for – if an alarm doesn't go off, she forgets to pick up her kids from school…)
