My Review

4 out of 5 stars

I loved Unwrapped, the prequel to this series and am a huge fan of the Single Dad books. This however just didn't grab me in the same way.  Whilst this wasn't quite insta-love, the pair had a brief encounter on the street and then spent the next week desperately pining after each other. Personally this scenario doesn't work for me but I'm sure there are many who do enjoy it. It also didn't help that the British hero (and yes I'm British) had a very American name. The only example I can think of is Beau Brummell but Beau was a nickname - he was actually called George Bryan Brummell). No, Beau is not a name you would typically find amongst the upper classes - think Princes Charles, William, Henry (Harry) and George for typical 'posh' names.

That feels like a lot of negative and that is not the impression I want to give. As I say, I enjoyed this well written (and edited), entertaining and enjoyable book. The characters were both believable and likeable and the pace was good. It's an easy book to read, both in content and in style or writing. If you've never read the author before I don't think this is the best introduction to her work. Again it's not bad but there are even better books by her. If you are a fan it's a good read and I will definitely be reading more books in this series.
