My Review

Lila Monroe sure can write a rom-com. This is one funny, sexy read with a side order of angst and misunderstanding. In fact this book is a series of misunderstandings and mishaps in the best possible way.

I was caught up from the first page and enjoyed every single word, line and page. The heroine Ruby is likeable, everyday and believable - so much so that I wish I had a Ruby in my life to be friends with! She had me chuckling at her bad luck, admiring her quick thinking PR fixes, loving her Sci-Fi quirkiness and envious that Will only seemed to have eyes for her.

The book is written entirely from her POV and, whilst I would have liked a little bit of Will's thoughts, with Ruby's wonderful personality it made for a very entertaining read. Will seemed a little aloof at times, possibly due to the single POV writing, but I soon warmed to him. The chemistry between Will and Ruby was certainly hot and provides some steamy moments, some fun moments but also some sad times too. The banter and innuendo between them was wonderful.

There are some amusing little sub-plots and side stories, I loved the ones involving Ruby's PR clients. There are also some really good supporting characters in the book, adding depth and extra interest. If you like your romance with a light feel, some good steam and plenty of laughs (as well as learning how to overwrite bad events) then I highly recommend this book.
