RELEASE BLITZ ~~~ In Too Deep by Jordan Marie

I did a bad thing.

I did a really bad thing.

I’m not a bad person, I swear. I just made a few mistakes.

Mistake number one was agreeing to rent my hotel out to an insufferable a**hole, named Aden Smith.

Mistake number two was ignoring his threats to sue me when he handed over a list of items he deemed “unacceptable”.

Mistake number three was diving into the pool to save his life when he fell. It would have been less complicated to hide his body.

When the hospital refuses to let me know how he is, I panic.

Claiming to be his wife might be my biggest mistake yet—especially when he believes me!

He might have been the one drowning, but I’m sinking in a bed of lies, going down fast—and there’s not a rescue in sight.

My Review

I haven't read anything by Jordan Marie before, but I am most definitely a convert to her books.

This was a warming read, with some wonderful supporting characters (we all need an Aunt Ida Sue), a crazy and yet somehow believable plot, a generous dollop of romance and a side serving of angst.

Aden was a complete and utter ass, so full of bitterness and hurt that he couldn't be nice if his life depended on it. However when he looses his memory we see the guy he should be emerge and what a caring, loving and considerate man he is. Hope at times did feel a little flaky, but clearly she was trying to turn her life around and do the best by her little boy Jack. She was clearly torn by her lies but each time I could understand why she continued them.

I would have liked fewer scenes that hinged around the big lie/secret and more that helped build and make us believe in the connection between Hope and Aden. A few more joint scenes where we got a range of emotions would have tipped this into a 5 star read for me. They certainly had great chemistry and, at the end, I did feel more emotion from them but I just never felt them fall in love.

I do recommend this book. It is well written and easy to read, with lots of amusing and witty lines in it. The plot flowed well and the pace kept me turning pages, wondering what would happen next. I liked and believed in the main characters and definitely want to catch up with the books involving some of the friends and cousins in this book.
