My Review ~~ 5 out of 5 stars

This without a shadow of a doubt is my favourite read of the year.

Even if it did break my heart again and again and again. I just about cried solidly for the first half of the book, then when I started to think things were getting easier my heart was torn out again! I'm not sure whether I love or hate D. Kelly after reading this book. Through both Book 1 and 2 I'd had a feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Wow that was NOT the dropped shoe I was expecting.

I actually read all three books one after the other, including reading Book 2 into the early hours of Monday morning just to finish it. Of course if you've read Book 2 (which you will need to do this is NOT a stand alone book) you'll know why I couldn't resist starting this Book. Thankfully I only read a short way in (to the helicopters) before needing at least 4 hours of sleep before work made me put it down. If I had read much further I would have been so caught up in the story I would have got no sleep.

I found all three books just held me gripped in that way that means once you start reading you don't want to put the book down. There are some unexpected twists and turns in this book a few 'eerie' happenings and a lot of Noah's belief in Fate. The book carries a warning to have wine, tissues and chocolate to hand - this is not a joke it's a necessity. I got some strange looks as I read some of this in public and was having a hard time not dissolving into a blubbering heap.

It's difficult to talk about the characters without revealing spoilers so I will just say that we learn more and more about Mel and the guys from BAD. We see journeys of strength, of learning, of healing and forgiveness. It's not a short book and yet it kept me gripped from start to finish. The writing is excellent - although time lines occasionally lost me but that could just be me!

I'm glad I waited until this one was out before reading all 3 books, as this really helped build the emotion and kept the entire story fresh in my head. If you have already started the series I would recommend a re-read of the first two before reading this.

I'm definitely suffering from a MASSIVE book hangover and don't even have the will to pick up another book at the moment. My mind has been blown away by this story and I definitely need some recovery time. Don't just add this to a TBR list - you need to one click the entire series now.
